Gosh, hope it heals up on you faster than you can say: superkalafragelisticexpialiedoshis

Seriously though..... hope it heals up fast for you. Sounds kind of bad.

Thanks! The swelling has already started to go down, so I imagine I'll be good to go by the weekend, though the antibiotic I'm on causes sun sensitivity, so I will have to load up on sunscreen when I'm outside. I was complaining about the race going all night, but I guess this works out for me better now.

That's what we're here for.

Hey, by the way, why do we have to wear a reflective vest? Seems like a strange requirement for an event in the woods.

Pinckney is very disjointed, lots of road crossings, and spoiler alert perhaps a few road slogs for high level teams. Shouldn't be too bad given the time of day but the people do haul out there over hills and blind curves. Unlike an AR where most road time would be on a bike with a blinky or light. You'd need about 40 "runners crossing roads" to cover it.

If I had access to a more contiguous area, I wouldn't have bothered. It also seemed to make the park more comfy since they pointed out the road crossings.

I'm still not sold at all on it. We cross/travel on roads at night on foot all the time in AR. Also, we're going to have headlamps on and we're adults who are aware of the techniques of looking for cars before crossing roads. I hate buying something I'll probably never use again and I don't want to wear it.

Then don't. What are the rules on not having mandatory gear?

Be happy that Jens is having a race. I happy. I would carry a bag of rocks if it was mandatory. No pool noodles though. That is just dumb.
