Many of you have been testing this out already, but for those who haven’t seen it, there is now a fully-automatic data sync option for Garmin.
You can set it up here.
Once authorized, Garmin Connect will push your new data to Attackpoint immediately after you sync to GC via ANT stick, USB, WiFi, or Bluetooth, depending on your device capabilities.
Some details:
The first time you authorize the GC connection, Garmin will also push your previous 30 days of activity, though AP will avoid duplicating any sessions you have already uploaded. But it is worth reviewing that period in your log to check for any activities you didn’t mean to post, or activities you have already logged without data. (The key for duplicate detection is the exact time of activity start, which we don't have for manual entries)
Attackpoint doesn’t use the Garmin activity type in your log (some watches only record “Running”!), but instead will learn how you classify your activities based on the data. If you are just starting to log data with AP you should give it a few days to figure that out. If you just got your previous 30 days blasted into your log, then you can correct the activity types on those sessions (may need to create new types) and you should then be good to go.
Let me know about any problems. It has been working pretty smoothly so far.
