You guys rocked the course in spite of major bike issues. Fantastic teamwork on a team that hadn't had the opportunity to work together before. Really well done.

CP1 was not your mistake. Unfortunately, our volunteers cut it too close to the wire, and we'll make sure we get our checkpoint staff out there earlier in future years. It can be hard for non-racers to appreciate how fast the top teams will go. The 15-minute early start put them further behind. They tried to inform as many teams as possible about the missing CP when they saw them paddling or portaging by, but they couldn't reach everyone.

Would it be OK to link your race report to our website?

So glad you came east to do this race with us Carbon! Great to get to know you, and to hang out in the woods together for 23 hours!
Maybe I'll have to figure out an excuse to come and do a few of those training sessions in your neck of the woods.

Yeah, there is lots of good skiing, mountain biking, hiking, running and playing out here. We have plenty of room in the house so any time you like to visit, just let us know!

Carbon, always great to see you, and quite happy to be on the podium behind you guys, so don't feel too bad about the thrashing you gave us even with setbacks.

So glad you guys were able to gut this one out. It was so tough for us not to have any internet connection to know what was going on until it was over. And then we heard about all of your bad luck. It takes a lot of experience to run into those kind of obstacles and still come out in second. Congrats and I am glad you got to race with some of our favourite peeps!
