Mountain Biking (On Road) 1:25:00 [3] 38.0 km (2:14 / km)

To and from work. Crazy tail wind on the way home. Didn't have to put any effort in! Sweet!

Two laps in the Salty Dog area. Only a bit higher up. My left upper calf was sore after the run. Hopefully something that will go away quickly.

Mountain Biking (Trail) 4:00:00 [3] 45.0 km (5:20 / km) +800m 4:54 / km

Some of the Salty Dog trails up to the top followed by fire road and ATV trails across to the single track of the Larch Traverse. Rode the first two single track sections before turning around. Missed a turn on the way back and ended up walking our bikes through a bog. By the time we hit the Salty Dog course I had bonked a bit and rode it very slowly. Fun day out.

Running (Trail) 35:00 [3]
shoes: Speed Cross (gray)

A short loop right off the bike. Had to eat an apple on the way out to help me through. It didn't do all that much but was very tasty.

Running (Trail) 5:00:00 [3] 36.0 km (8:20 / km) +1700m 6:44 / km
shoes: Salomon Speedcross (black)

My longest run so far this year at 5 hrs of running. I'm super happy with how I felt on this run. I had no pains anywhere (except for the sorness from the hill running earlier this week)! My pace was very consistent the whole run and I was able to increase my effort and run more hills towards the end (even got my average up a bit at the very end). We did one lap pretty much like the Salty Dog lap then two more that went all the way to the top and up to the Larch Hill trail system. One of the contributing factors for feeling good today was likely the fact that my pack was lighter than usual. I only ran with what I needed vs. all the mandatory gear for CCC. Today was the first time where I started thinking that maybe I can pull off the CCC race, although we probably only did about 1500-2000m elevation gain so there is still a long way to go.

Hike/Scramble (Scramble & Trail Run) 2:45:00 [3] +900m
shoes: Speed Cross (gray)

A nice evening Heart Loop scramble after work with CO. My legs were killing me from Llew session yesterday any my lunch hill workout. They were especially bad downhill. On the steep sections down I was trying to run low and avoid braking, but I had no success as I found that if I wasn't slowing myself I would endo. I will need to practice this more. I want to avoid braking as much as possible since I can tell it's really hard on the body.
