Rouge with Simpy. Two loops. First one was the two of us, with Simpy keeping us at a decent pace while the weather was hot and humid. Shortly after the turnaround came a downpour...and the run was that much better for it. Some trails were streams, lots of splashing through puddles. It was however a bad night to choose a white technical shirt. Uggh.

Second loop we picked up Simpy's friend Jason, for a shorter loop at the bottom. Weather turned perfect, which made for a nice finish.

The usual pit-stop post run. We talked all night about improving diets, so we kept it lighter tonight at MB. Then Sarah texted me on the way home to drop the hint they had Chocolate Peanut Butter Blizzards on this month. For sure I will get my diet on track tomorrow....

After an absolute over-indulgence of junk food all day, I felt like complete shit...and figured it was a good time to force myself out for a run. The entire run was a balance of holding off vomiting and other undesirable actions. Maybe this was good training after all.

Nice little Durham ride with Simpy. Frikken awesome weather and my first good ride on single-track with the new bike. Felt good, although I still need to get use to the bigger wheels on some of the more technical parts. So far enjoying the 2x10 and never found myself wanting on the ride.

Followed it up by a pit stop at Hy-Hope farms to pick up some homemade butter tarts and strawberry-rhubarb pie for the BBQ at Simpys tonight....and an organic BBQed sausage on a bun for my lunch. :) Perfect long weekend day so far.
