XC Ski (Classic) 3:00:00 [3] 18.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
Ski around Deerfield park on the way home from my parents' place. It was OK, but the track was pretty shallow. It was glazed and fast, though, for the most part... other than that I had to stop and take my skis off to cross the covered bridge twice on every lap. Also, the "expert loop" was so dug up by deer, that it was half leaves and half snow, so I skipped that on laps 2-4. There was still a good hill even with the bypass. Only one time did I bite it on an oak leaf, so that's a plus, but there were lots of close moments.
I saw Jean out there. She's a 75-year-old lady who still XC ski races regularly. Those types of people are my heroes. Who cares how slow you are? You're regularly racing in your 70s! Awesome.
I passed everyone I saw - mostly like they were standing still. Pretty sure I was the fastest person there, so I think that means I won today's training session.
