Road Bike (Trainer) 52:05 [2] 10.5 mi (12.1 mph)
ahr:127 max:140

Trainer Ride. Gotta get my bum used to being on the bike again. Watched Master of None on Netflix. I like it so far.

Yoga (Ashtanga) 1:30:00 [1]

Less help today because they class was pretty full, but I was still able to touch my face to my knee in Janu A, so I'm happy. My goal is to do Ashtanga 2x/week through the end of January. (except when I'm on vacation.)

Run (Run-Walk) 45:18 [3] 3.5 mi (12:57 / mi) +75ft 12:41 / mi
ahr:146 max:162

Run 5 minutes, walk 3, repeat.
Sunny day, but cold. I'm ready for California! 11 days until Long Beach!
Felt pretty good today! I had more running intervals that went over by 30-40 seconds because I got lost in it. Maybe I'll cut the walk down to 2 minutes next time and start pure running in a few weeks. This is good. I think I can start doing this 3 times/week. Maybe I'll hit the treadmill after work so I can't use the dark as an excuse.

Yoga (Ashtanga) 1:30:00 [1]

Well, I was happy to be able to bind during Marychiasana A and B! Woo hoo! I had to have some help pulling my arms into place, but they got there. The good news is that some of my old injuries that left me tight in spots (like my right shoulder) are fading now with extra yoga and MUCH less running, biking, and strength training. I also touched my head to my knee while bending forward on another pose. AND, I was touching my heels to the ground on my down dogs, so that's some improved achilles flexibility after hurting both of them in 2014. Good stuff!

Mountain Bike (Back Roads) 1:03:05 [3] 13.6 mi (12.9 mph) +92ft
ahr:146 max:165

I was hoping to take this beautiful day and go out and ride City Forest, but it rained so much I thought that the trail would be soggy, so I opted for a back road ride. Not very windy, which was nice. I'm definitely seeing my 4-months of non-training in my slow out of shape-ness, but I actually picked it up in the second half and ended up pushing the effort a bit! I'll get there! I'm going to do some more mountain bike races in 2016, I think.

Yoga (Short Form Ashtanga) 1:00:00 [0]

Next week: Long Form. I also did some stuff first thing in the morning - 3 sun salutations and 3x 5 push ups, 10 sit ups, 15 squats. I did 10 push ups on the last round, and my legs were actually sore from the squats the next day. Umm, this used to be a warm up! BUT, I keep reminding myself - you've got to start somewhere and build it back up slowly. Fitness will return.

Making sure to at least get my yoga in!

Hike (Run-Walk) 48:12 [3] 3.4 mi (14:11 / mi) +190ft 13:28 / mi
ahr:140 max:169

After a long day of cookie dough making, Barbara and I took a nice run/walk through the badlands with Artimus. We did 3 minutes run/ 3 minutes walk. There was some nice sand for resistance.

Hike (Night O) 1:55:38 [3] 5.6 mi (20:39 / mi) +341ft 19:31 / mi
ahr:133 max:172

Night O race. Wow, I struggled pretty badly in the first half. There were trails that were light and then also blocked off from view because someone was trying to shut them down. And those sections in the North/Open fields. Once I gave up on that and went back to the more woodsy sections, I started ticking off the points again. Ended up 18th overall out of 42 (?) but that's fine since I wasn't running much at all and I lost about 30 minutes where I couldn't figure out where I was. I actually had a time when I had no idea at all where I was because the trails made NO sense. Oh well, good to get out and do this and fun to see all the friends.

Hike 39:51 [3] 2.5 mi (15:56 / mi)

Tried to speed walk while talking to Anna on the phone. Not as successful as I would have liked, but I managed to pick it up after we finished talking.
