Hike 7:54:00 [2] 15.0 mi (31:36 / mi)

Get lost in panoche hills. Raced with Clare, who I just met this morning. We went for most of the southern points. It was super hilly and sandy. We got most of the points that we were going for. Didn't do really any running except in to the finish but I am feeling my legs today anyway - especially in the calves. No blisters for me. Yay!

Hike 1:41:41 [1] 6.4 mi (15:53 / mi)

Hike with LeeAnn at Muir Woods. We started on the normal 'tourist' trail and the hopped on the Ben Johnson trail and then hopped on to Dipsey trail. Climbed it up to get the view of the ocean and the city. Really super pretty hike. We were very happy to get off the main trail to get away from the crowds. Didn't start recording for probably 30 minutes so I missed some of it. Only recorded moving time - not time spent taking pictures, eating an apple, etc.

Hike (walking) 2:55:00 [1] 10.0 mi (17:30 / mi)

Walking all around Long Beach and around Naples with Anna. We looked at houses, talked about how I could come move to California, our Golden Girls house, life, architecture, tacky decorations, etc.

I was still in recovery mode from the New Year's Eve celebration the night before. I even put Leukotape (from my first aid kit) on my feet to prevent rubbing from my heels. I busted out my 4" heels and rocked the shit out of them. No kitten heels tonight! I was full out mode and I danced like crazy and drank like I was still in college (which it felt like since I was out with LeeAnn and Anna.) Anyway, a long walk was the perfect activity for the day that started with the statement "At some point today, I'm going to have to spend a significant amount of time vertical."

Run 50:00 [3] 5.5 mi (9:05 / mi)

Ran on the path along the beach in Long beach. I was hot in capris and a short-sleeved shirt. The local cyclists were all wearing long-sleeved jerseys. I did a 10-minute warm-up before doing 4 sets of 6-minute cruise intervals with 2 minute recovery in between. Nobody passed me. Woo!

Loved getting to run down the beach. FUN!!

Run 1:23:00 [3] 7.0 mi (11:51 / mi)

Ran with Anna at Palo Verde. It starts as a downhill run so no problem. A few short up hill sections. Super pretty run with the ocean view. Most of the trials were just out and backs so we did quite a few trails. Walked the steep uphill sections. Fun time! LeeAnn and I have been plotting how we are going I find a way to move out here since yesterday. I saw a refinery along the route today and said ''look, a job for me!" And they said "gross Hilary". Also the quote of the day was "sometimes you have to use a firm hand with Hilary."

Oh, and the one that you guys would appreciate was that I was REALLY hot on the plane for some reason, which is really unusual for me. When I got off the plane, we were walking and I said to LeeAnn "I was so hot I just wanted to take my pants off." She was thinking "Really? All the people who were on the plane with us were still right there." Whatever.

Note

We walked around the tide pools for about an hour and a half. I got in some good practice hopping around rock to rock. Despite the fact that I tripped over the chain in the parking lot, I moved really well on the rocks!! I was thinking that my teammates would be proud.
