Mountain Bike (Road) 38:00 [3] 10.0 mi (15.8 mph)

Easy spin around the block in my new pants to try them out and check the bike. All is good on the bike. One last chain lube and a wipe down... and it's in the car to go tomorrow.

Run 20:00 [3] 2.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Ran out to the track to do a last minute calibration check on my foot pod. It should have been a pace count calibration check instead... since when I got home I read my e-mail and saw a note from my teammate copying the "no foot pods allowed" statement from the gear list. How did I miss this? D'oh! I've never seen a foot pod disallowed - only GPS stuff. Shoot.

Run (Trails) 1:26:19 [3] 8.0 mi (10:47 / mi)

Nice easy City Forest cruise. Cool. Saw a couple mountain bikers I knew out on the trail. There were actually some mosquitos out tonight even though I saw the mosquito control truck drive in Tuesday after my ride. Yeah, they spray for mosquitos in City Forest.

Mountain Bike (City Forest) 1:22:06 [3] 10.6 mi (7.7 mph)

Took a nice easy spin around City Forest. Did a comparison of Strava to bike computer. The twistiness of these trails led to strava shorting the ride by 1.7 miles. Wow! Still, I looked at the end and I had 3 new QOMs. Seriously? How when I was going so slow? Oh, I'm the only woman to do them. Really nice day to be out riding and I really enjoyed myself.

Mountain Bike (Hills) 1:32:00 [3] 18.2 mi (11.9 mph)

With Expedition Pack +3L water+ other stuff.
One last, shorter, easier brick today before UNE. Rode usual route in West Branch on the hilly roads, but didn't really attack the hills. Also, took a veer off on one of them to see what was at the end of the dead end. It was a 2-track, but I'm not sure if it was private property or if I could go on it. I think maybe public. Everyone marks their private property pretty extensively up there.

BEAUTIFUL day for a ride. Little greenish yellow flowers smelled great. Sunny, perfect temperature. <3

Run (Trails) 1:12:13 [3] 6.0 mi (12:02 / mi)

With Expedition pack +3L water and some other stuff. Used this time to play with the watch, which was acting weird and kept going to "PC Interface." Nope, I'm out running in the woods. I also got the pack adjustment dialed in. Wasn't really trying to go that hard, but didn't go too far as this is part of the taper time.

Mountain Bike 37:40 [3] 5.6 mi (8.9 mph)

After the run, set out to check out the two track around Ogemaw Hills hoping that I could figure out a good semi-sandy 2-track route. Unfortunately, this was a fail. The first road was actually just about right - small patches of sand that required some maneuvering, but rideable. Then, when it turned to the north, it turned into deep, unrideable sand going uphill for a long distance. I turned around and then, when I saw the ORV trail, I decided to check that out. Decent in places, but not at all suited to a mountain bike. Went back to the main two track, hopped on single track for a bit, and then finished off on the road to the north just checking that out. Nice rollers, but nothing earth-shattering.
