Paddle 15:00 [1]

Testing Surf Skis! I tried the Stellar SR Excel (which I bought) but also the Epic V8 and V10 Sport. Nick was impressed with my baseline stability. He said he would not normally demo skis in the conditions we had that day. There were a few times when he said most people would have gone in with the side waves while turning around. Woo! I take this as a good sign that I'll pick it up and get comfortable pretty quickly.
I liked the V10 Sport as well, but I think that the Stellar SR was just a better fit and more comfortable for me.

Mountain Bike (Hanson Hills) 3:56:10 [3] 35.8 mi (9.1 mph) +2182ft
ahr:142 max:162

Went out with Brenda and Joe at Hanson Hills. It was pretty hot. None of us knew that there was a race there that day - 100 and 50 mile distances. Fortunately, it was just finishing up as we got out so there was no conflict. I know it's their home trail, but they totally schooled me. It was a great ride, though, and I really enjoyed the perfect day. Must have been dehydrated because I drank 1.5 liters from my bladder.

I'm not sure what to do to make the bottoms of my feet not hurt with these shoes. My cheap shoes are so much more comfortable than the more expensive "race" shoes. I've tried a different insole, but maybe I need one that's moldable. After 2 hours, my forefoot just was achey as if I'd been wearing heels for hours. Takes a lot away from the fun of the ride.

Run (Trail) 1:26:04 [3] 6.6 mi (13:02 / mi) +551ft 12:05 / mi
ahr:143 max:156

Decided that the back of the park would probably be dry enough to run more of the trail today. It was! Got to run a couple laps on the hill circuit and then go back and run the back hills a couple times as well.

Mountain Bike (City Forest) 1:27:08 [3] 9.5 mi (6.5 mph) +144ft
ahr:119 max:150

Ride for Cyndi at City Forest. Got out of work and to the trail later than planned... wanted to get my hill climbs in before hand. Gah! Tried to incorporate some harder gear efforts in with the training ride by going behind Jim, who rides faster than the rest of the group for the most part. Mostly easy otherwise.

Run (Trails) 1:27:53 [3] 6.7 mi (13:07 / mi) +863ft 11:41 / mi
ahr:136 max:148

Did the loop a bunch of times. Harder on the up-hills easy otherwise. Feeling mostly recovered, but a bit sluggish.

Hands ripped on the last round of pull ups. ugh. Hate that. Maybe I just really need to strengthen my grip so I don't rip my fingers.

Hike 1:30:00 [1]

No distance, but went for a nice walk around Grand Rapids with Richelle and looked at a bunch of houses, talked about what kind of place she'd like to buy one day.
Also, spent some time checking out local shops - walking out there. People were like "You walked here all the way from over there?" and it wasn't even all that far.
