Race 6:00:00 [4]

Another WT with Mrs Gally, Storm and our new recruit Jay Livingston.

Race started with a trek and we decided to keep it simple and bushwack straight instead of the option of taking trails. Nav was solid in this section with minimal issues and were able to finish with the lead teams.

On to the bike which we new would be a challenge based on Bob's time estimates and distance. Ended up being a good sufferfect especially with all the rain leading up to the race. We were not too fast during this section and Mrs. Gally was suffering which was unusual but there was a reason for it. She was starting to get cornea adema again similar to what she had at Hell gate. She started to go blind in one eye and was becoming hypothermic but still continued on.

We were glad to finally finish the bike and on to the long paddle. Mrs. Gally really struggled to keep warm in this section and had tough time walking the portages which was concerning but not surprisingly wanted to keep going. We were able to get through the . paddle with not too any issues and once we got to TA were able to get Mrs. Gally warm again. Luckily her eyesight was getting better so we continued on to the night treak.

Some options on the trek but planned on a direct route which brought us through some swamps and another small swim but wasn't too bad Other then a small brain fart at one of the mandatory crossings , we had clean nav and were able to hold off another coed team that were on our heals.

We finished up with a quick bike to the finish line and celebrated our 4th place finish or so we thought! Joy turned delfation as we soon realized that we were missing something... like a full back with the race tracker, doh! Some how we left it at the las TA and our options were to go back and get it or take a penalty. Penalty it was! We were bumbed by what happened but knew we had a good race and took it in stride.

Another great race and great team mates. Time to retire again:)
