Took the shorter route to work today. It's pitch dark in the mornings now. Will likely have to add another light to my setup so that I can see better. Some sort of emergency was going on on a very deserted section of the river when I rode by. A few minutes later a few river boats were out with big lights on. I wonder what was up. Whatever it was, I hope it had a happy ending.

My light died on the way to work so I was having trouble seeing on the darker parts of the pathway, but at least I was out of traffic so I wan never exposed to any fast moving vehicles. When I got to work and headed to the showers I discovered that in my building's renovations to make more office space they have knocked out the only two showers that we had. This is a real bummer for me as I love riding to work, and occasionally also run. My work is loosing points by the hour these days.

Home from work. A bit of a head wind but otherwise a steady ride. It's nice that it's still so hot out, about 29C when I left work.

Took our car up to the mechanic as soon as I got home and then ran back. I'm feeling better and better now. Too bad I wasn't feeling like this leading up to WT .

A run along the neighbourhood. I had two goals tonight:
1) to play with my new Suunto Ambit; and
2) to try to get a stitch so that I can start working on figuring out what is causing it for me and how to better deal with it when it happens.

I was only successful in playing with the watch. The watch is awesome. It's the first HR monitor strap that I have had that feels good and doesn't fall down. I can finally start monitor HR again. The features are sweet too and the watch is easy to use. Pure fun! Can't wait to take it to the mountains.

Despite talking while running, breathing shallow, speeding up and slowing down, breathing irregularly and so on and so forth, I wasn't able to produce a stitch. I'll keep working on it. I've done a pile of research and know what things I want to try to get rid of one when it happens again. I want to get a really bad one so that I can really put all the things to the test.

Note

Tryingto figure out what to do for next year. I think I will start proper training again as I really enjoyed how fit that got me last year. Maybe an expedition race or two..although I will have to find interested team mates first ;)
