AR Race race 20:47:00 [4]

Have been so pumped about this race for months after hearing about it over a year ago and new Bob Miller would put on an awesome race especially with the help of such experienced people like Barb and Dee.
Was super excited to have almost our original team back in action with Storm joining us. The trek was awesome just like the good old days with a mix of trails, bush and even a nice refreshing swim!! I felt like a midget out there as usual with my team of long legged boys prancing through the forest while I got stuck between trees and bushes - loved it! Boys picked great route and was super excited to come out and find out we were 2nd behind Benoits team. Bike was fun except watching my hubby cramping which I am not used to seeing and the motherly/wfie instinct was kicking in quite a bit and I was actually riduculously nice to him which may have actually thrown his game off for a bit....on to water with some pressure as teams were all coming in to TA before paddle and 2nd was now up for grabs as we new some very strong teams such as Soloman, Running Free and The Shed were right on our butts! We got through the paddle but got stuck in a bay confused a bit from where Benoits team had come from - Jamie thought there was another way to CP10 but soon learned that there was none and we had just been passed by the super powerful Soloman and Kinetic DARN!!! We got out of paddle as quick as possible (Thanks Storm for putting up with me and my poncho in this section LOL) and on to final trek and a fourth place finish. We were sad to lose 2nd place but happy to compete and stay close to top in such a competitive race!! Storm was super strong and it was great to race with my hubby and former team mate Rob. I really enjoyed the race and felt very good throughout which I was pleased with especially after being out of the longer races for a while. Can't wait to race again!!!!

Not sure on distance as spedometer stopped working in pouring rain - good ride mix of trails, road out to Halton then a quick run while watching the O cup at Kelso. Wanted to paddle but Kelso closed due to weather so biked back to Gtown.
