On another note Jacob has not taken off his medal since Saturday I am so proud of him and excited he likes AR and Emma is wearing his rockstar jersey talking strategy for her and I next year!!

Great day racing with Dee
Good fast bike even after a nice fall by Dee she recovered nicely!
We had a good plan and first section went perfectly in my mind and I was able to help Dee by holding bearings which I really enjoyed made race so much more interesting. Dee did a great Job navigating this section while fielding my many questions...
We planned to head in to second section and pick up some big points but got greedy as Dee mentioned in her report and I was really pushing us to get the 100 then run back and get the 83 which was the turning point in our race as the 100 was very tricky too find and we were extremely tight to get back and unfortunately got neither...
It gave me a whole new appreciation on how many logistics go into this style of racing and that time estimates are HUGE!! Dee's gut was to get the 83 then head back which in hindsight was correct ...darn!!!!
Back to the hub in a panic right on deadline and off to a few more checkpoints on water
I need to work on my steering as t boned us in to island when we decided to switch positions in boat
At this point we were both cramping and tired and I was feeling really bad still about the 100 we missed but we finished 3 rd female lots of lessons learned and great to race with Dee!

So awesome to ride with friend of my brother and my bro for great road ride up in Ipperwash
Was a bit nervous when I found out he has done 13 ironmans and doing 14th this summer very humble and great company

Followed ride wih beach run with ironman dude awesome learned some tips from him . He is getting me tub of Louis garineau mix which is tasty and very high in sodium I kept sipping on it (missed ya Dee) ! And loved it as tasteless!

Went in today feeling ready did not anticipate outcome
I knew heat would be an issue but did not think it would affect me as I am usually good in heat
Started with Dee and she pulled away quite early in race
Came through first 25 at 2:38 and found out Dee was approx 8 mins in front of me continued on and at the 30 km mark experienced some brutal cramping which I have never experienced ( I am still cramping as I write this at home ...I always felt bad for the guys in the ar races when they would cramp and today I fully understand what cramping is all about
It was an effort to put one foot in front of another and I knew that I needed more salt or something or I was not going to get to the finish for a loooooonng time
Saw my family with 3 km to go which lifted my spirits hit the last down hill then was a hobble cramp fest to the finish line where I got an intense rub down from a cutie paramedic
Denise did excellent 2nd female I was 5th Sean smoked it in 4:25 WOW!! and the best reward was laying in the river with my family and friends
Not a great race day for me but got some good training and can't wait for alps!'
