Exciting night run for the big guy- lots of eyes in the dark. Coon up a tree, flock of huge birds, 2 different dogs and a herd of cows had him standing on his back legs saying "let me at 'em".

Solid run with AD. Quest for solid ground. We did some speed and hill intervals too. Singletrack is soft but not sodden. The Rollercoaster was firmer.

Chilly but sunny ride in with Adventuredog. -11C and I got my hands chilled putting the seat on the bike after extracting it from the van. Nice singletrack scoot without much ice.
Getting a bit soft in spots on the way home but still mostly frozen.
Adventuedog had a nice frolic with 2 big 9 month old Wiemeraners who are moving into the 'hood.

-8C, bluebird day for an extended ride in with the big guy. Took the Farm loop, Charlevoix and Rollercoaster on nice frozen ground while it lasts.

Commute with the big boy. I thought the trails would be clear, but there's still ice. The Razors were adequate, but definitely not ready for summer shoes yet.
Slushy/mucky run back. Big guy was great on his extendaleash instead of harness, but he did want to visit the cows on the hill next door.

Hockley with Storm, Scout and Contour while Logan the Adventuredog went with the ladies.
Beautiful sunny calm day. Dogs were great- both on ski harnesses. Nobody got pulled on their face, even on steep frozen slopes or thawing mud over frozen ground.
We had some longer stops to give the dogs drinks as the creeks are frozen over. After the first half they just trotted calmly, and when we met the ladies Contour wasn't too keen to continue.

Nice lunch at the Black Birch after.

Note- hamstring was sore in the second half. Poles helped.

Hardwood with Coach LD. Meadowlands trails were excellent in the cool morning, but grip started to get a bit sketchy as it warmed from -3 to +7, so we avoided the bigger climbs on the main side and had a very nice flowy ski.
Coach went out for a skate loop after, but classic was done so I skipped it.

Dead calm, blue skies and snow all around- spectacular. Hardwood seems to be in an island of winter.

Just enough snow to allow the plus tires to not slip on ice- AD and I had a good ride in. The fatties have been on the singletrack, which is less icy than the doubletrack.

Took singletrack home. A couple of spots were just thawing into mud but mostly a good ride.

Skiing at Hardwood! Just when I'd written off the season.
Best of all, Goose came up with me and Bash and we had a great ski.
Lucky he's "out of shape" so I can ski with him at 14kph.
This was lap 1- I forgot the GPS for lap 2.
Crisp bluebird day, Mucho Burrito and Starbucks after too- woo hoo.

Dingle and Glen Haffy with Goose and the dogs. Easy run until I hooked Goose up to Bazingadog, then things got quicker. The 2 big guys run well together. Great to have Goose back running again.

Rocky Ridge adventure run.
Between not feeling well and knowing how nav can be in Rocky ridge, I planned a reasonable route with a turn-back time in the difficult South end, assuming I'd get horribly lost.
I took it slow, and things actually went well. Mistakes were made, but I was able to backtrack and correct. I ran into Rob and Dorota a fair bit, but was on my own mostly and perferred that.
I hit my turn around time and dropped 2 controls, but made it back to the North end with lots of time to spare so I picked up all the remaining points a bit inefficiently, and would have had time to clean the course. Second time I have been too cautious.

Glad I didn't do the o-cup though- running fast there isn't fun for me.

Run to work with the big boy, who is 6 now. He was very enthusiastic to go.
Dry frozen ground around our place, glare ice in the conservation area trails.
Luckily the luge run down to the river has disappeared.

Legs are doing OK.
