Running 2:15:00 [3]

Ran up the Don valley trail with Bulletdog, back down to Earl Bales and pretty much every trail I could find. Fairly cool at 7AM, but I was drenched when I got back.

Paddlng 1:15:00 [3]

Paddling Island Lake with Hingo. The Trayling form's coming back, and we had a good paddle.

Cycling (Trainer) 1:03:00 [3]
ahr:140 max:169

Rode the TDF in the cool basement. I had a hard climb up the Col with David Montcoutier, and couldn't wait to be over the top. Also really pushed on the sprint with the lads.

Note
(rest day)

Today's planned workout and bike training session of 2.5 hours (TDF Time) got canned when we had a 4hr power failure and a flood in the basement. I guess mopping up with towels by headlamp doesn't count as training :(

Cycling 2:00:00 [3]

Rode from home to and around Albion. I managed to make it over the Haute Route for the first time this year. It's an off-camber sharp turn that's almost too narrow for my 'Bent bike. Sugarshack was easy! The trail's bone dry, and the deerflies are attacking on the hills like T-Mobile pestering Lance.

Running intervals 16:00 [5]
shoes: New Balance 706

Speed intervals- level 5 for 6-7 minutes, then easier for 7 min. These were hard!

Running intervals (Commute) 40:00 [3]
shoes: New Balance 706

The rest of the commute, including the "off" part of the intervals. It wasn't as easy a run as it should be, as our speed intervals took us a bit too far and had to hustle to make it back to work on time. Wildlife for Bash- We spooked a grouse, which flew right at bulletdog's head and almost was a snack. Also saw a coon run up a tree, and a hellish paving contraption the size of a locomotive which spooked the bulletdog.

Hiking (Commute) 38:00 [1]
shoes: New Balance 706

Too hot, smoggy and buggy for Bulletdog to run home so we hike/jogged. Looking forward to watching the Tour in the cool basement.
Wildlife for Bash- Bulletdog caught Fabio the turkey gobbling down the ripe raspberries, but chased him off to save them for T-dog to hoover down.

Strength (Home Gym) 45:00 [2]

Workout #1 while watching the Tour. I'd hop off my trainer during commercials and get sets in, while Bash and the dogs watched bemusedly. I guess I look a bit funny in cycling shoes, underarmour shorts, HRM strap and headband, dripping wet.

Cycling (Trainer) 1:40:00 [2]

Rode the trainer watching the Tour. I took it mostly easy, except climbing Courchevel with Lance, Michael and the Spanish lads. Great day on the Tour! Wildlife for Bash- 2 baby bunnies and some hummingbirds right out the window.

(rest day)

Rest day for the tour and for me.

Cycling (MTB + Trainer) 2:30:00 [2]

I did the Tour de Palgrave today. Rode every single bit of Salty Stephen Singletrack, all the doubletrack and the "Charlevoix" figure 8. Mostly took it easy, as I had a level 2 ride planned. Got to practice my bikewhacking as there's a huge tree down on the trail.
Wildlife for Bash- Deerflies, deerflies and more deerflies.

I also rode my trainer along with Michael Rasmussen on the real Tour as he owned the climbs with his mega-breakaway.

Cycling 1:00:00 [3]

The harder section of the riding. The Salty Stephen is so technical that it's impossible to ride level 2 on the climbing sections, so it was at least level 3.

Strength (Home Gym) 1:00:00 [2]

Workout #3 while watching the first part of the Tour de France.
