Misc 1:30:00 [2]

A few more hours of hauling and splitting logs. I was pretty tired afterwards.

Only logged 1/2, pun intended.

Cycling (Commute) 54:00 [2]

Bike in with Bulletdog, who's flying in the cool weather.

Running race 38:22 [5] 9.0 km (4:16 / km)
shoes: Ecco Receptor 2

Trek or Treat 9km night trail run.
A really fun event- lots of spooky music, volunteers in great costumes, excellent Hallowe'en theme, great prizing. Some of the people doing the 5km run were in excellent costumes. Something like 300 people overall.

I ran my HRM pretty much in low-mid zone 5. The Riddler (Rydlo) won overall in 32 minutes or so -no surprise there.

I *was* surprised to find out that I won the 40-49 category! My teammate 3Pin was second in our category, and Bash was second in hers!

They got some really nice Leki trekking poles, while I got another pair of Ecco shoes. (As Heather said- a guy who really doesn't need another pair of Ecco shoes after winning 2 straight before this)

Hey, I'm not complaining. I'd never heard of Ecco shoes before ESAR, but this last pair of trail shoes I won have been great. I did the Laurentian Rogaine in them without a single blister, even though Bash and many others had hamburger feet. They're light but supportive, and not too narrow in the waist or toe-box. The new ones I won are a little more rugged chassis for off-road, and I'll see how I like them.

Running 30:00 [2]
shoes: Ecco Receptor

Good run in with T-dog, who concentrates a lot better when I have dog treats in my pocket.

Strength (Home gym) 1:00:00 [2]

Workout #1. I'm back at my PB on a couple of exercises, and not far short on others. Guess I am more consistent after racing season's over, and the Lumberjack impersonation doesn't hurt.

Running 30:00 [3]
shoes: Ecco Receptor

Nice run in to work with The Bulletdog. It was one of those good runs where your mind wanders and suddenly you're there already.

Note

Here's a much better video- singletrack in Palgrave with music.

Comments welcome.

And there's a second one now, at
http://youtube.com/watch?v=IkOEeJg0G98

The second one is a faster singletrack with less log-overs.

Running (Commute) 40:00 [1]
shoes: Ecco Receptor 2

Easy jog-hike with the T-dog setting the pace.

Strength (Core) 40:00 [2]

The dreaded Hard Core Conditioning DVD. Bash used a weight!

Note

The recumbent helmetcam video's up on Youtube.
The first one is me going down and up stairs.http://youtube.com/watch?v=cNH7inTPNnw

The second's better- some singletrack, including me chasing some dude at Albion.

Running (Commute) 56:00 [2]
shoes: Ecco Receptor 2

Commute to and fro with Bulletdog. I was going to bike but the forecast was wet- wrong.

Running 30:00 [2]

Ran both dogs around Short Bruce and a bit of Charlevoix.Bulletdog met her match in a young boxer.

Strength (Home gym) 1:00:00 [2]

Workout 3

Cycling 1:30:00 [3]

I was fooling around with a helmetcam- attached my digicam to my helmet, just in case I don't look unusual enough already. I rode some of the Palgrave Red Dog singletrack, and went to Albion to get some faster flowing riding on film. If I ever figure out how to edit and compress it, I'll post it on Youtube or something.
