Running 40:00 [3]

After visting my bro in Toronto, I am still in awe as to how much sushi he and my brother in law (non-athletes) could Shamu down. We went to an all-you-can-eat a la carte place for lunch, so I'm not talking about shovelling down a buffet.
I had about half as much as either of them, and was so stuffed I barely made it out for a short run by 4:30.

First lap with both hounds, then a second lap of the steep short hills near our place. Another 5 hours and I'd have burned off lunch.

Cycling (Trainer) 55:00 [2]

My 'bent's going in for it's winter upgrade and the weather stinks, so I rode my old 'bent on the dreaded trainer.

Strength (Home gym) 1:00:00 [2]

Workout #3, plus some ski-specific arm work.

Running (Commute+) 40:00 [2]
shoes: Montrail Hardrock

Ran the red trail to work, past where the logging has been finished. I threw in hill and speed intervals, and this was to and from the intervals and to work.

Running intervals 22:00 [5]
shoes: Montrail Hardrock

3 sets of hill intervals to HR level 5 (90 sec uphill), and later 3 sets of speed intervals, 4 min on 2 off.

Arrived at work drenched.

Running (Commute) 28:00 [3]
shoes: Montrail Hardrock

Dark and very foggy run home. I saw some bike headlights in the Palgrave singletrack and bushwhacked over to see if it was Crash. I chased them on foot but they lost me on the doubletrack.

Cycling (Commute) 52:00 [2]

Sure is dark early! Had to put a flashing collar on the Bulletdog.

Strength (core) 40:00 [2]

Hard Core Monday. Groan- haven't done this for a month. Gonna be sore. Also had to watch the "plank" exercises as they are really hard on my lower back.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [1]

Orienteering (Thomass Kickoff) 1:23:00 [4]
ahr:178 max:197 shoes: Icebugs 2

Started off well enough and I was running with the leaders, although I probably shouldn't, but at the end of the second box I somehow thought I needed to go back for another control. I managed to get my map switched around so I was looking at "G" in the first box instead of the G in the second, and I had a humiliating 26 minute split as I tried to figure out why the map was all wrong for wa-a-ay too long. Worst of all was that I didn't even need to go back for that control :(

Strength 1:00:00 [1]

A rather feeble workout #2, given that I was tired from the Thomass. I still needed to do the stretching and leg strength, so I did the whole workout.
