Cycling 50:00 [3]

Bike around the Charlevoix loop then into Palgrave E and around some of the Red Dog with the Bulletdog on the Omega 'bent. I thought it would be way better in tight twisties, but it's not good at log-hopping. Still a fun ride, but wish I had more time on such a great day.

Cycling (Commute +) 40:00 [3]

Back route past the Crash Pad, and final chapter backwards. It's 99% clear, unlike my hike-a-bike route home last night.

Orienteering 1:20:00 [1]
shoes: Ecco GTX + Screws

Walk the Line exercise.
I thought it was going quite well, and in a lot of areas I was dead on, but clearly not where the controls were!

I did better by myself, but breezed past several when we all got bunched up. Bash was perfection, unlike my lackadaisical approach. A big mud-splotch on the last part of the map is my feeble excuse there, but it's really due to lack of skill.

Mind you, seeing Scooby at the end made it all worthwhile. He was removing handfuls of mud from his shoe, and there's still a sock, a compass and half a map out there somewhere. Didn't faze him.

Thanks guys for setting it up. I need to do more of these.

Cycling (Commute) 28:00 [3]

Quick buzz to work with a little singletrack tossed in- appts today so I'm missing a great riding morning:(

Cycling (Commute) 30:00 [3]

First time riding with the new pimped triple LED.
I had it on low, when I saw a series of eyes in the distance. On med. I could see that they were deer, on high it's like a car headlight, and off they went.
Medium is plenty for commuting, AR, and high will be tons for fast downhills and singletrack.

Cycling (Commute) 29:00 [3]

Lance was wrong- it *is* about the bike. I took the big old 'bent today, and it's definitely a better climber. Also much more sure-footed in slippery conditions.

Had to hike a couple of snowy bits, but others were frozen hard and good biking. Climbed the steep hill near Duffy's with ease.
I think the new one would be faster on roads, but it's a slug in dicey conditions. I had gotten used to the new bike's less wobbly steering, but I'll have to see if it's any better in tight-and-twisty.

Cycling (Commute +) 40:00 [3]

The new fence *forced* me to ride the Red Dog singletrack 1 and 2, which are mostly nice and dry. Riding went well, even with my heavy pack on the back.
Guess the Oracle 'bent will need to be a road tourer, and this one's my race bike.

We had a nice dinner with Crash, Vmax and Skye.

Hiking (commute) 30:00 [1]
shoes: Ecco GTX + Screws

(60 min) Hike/ jog home with T-dog, with stops to swim in the river, roll in the snow, greet the biking Bash and the hiking Crash and play with Skye.
I was planning to work out when I got home, but lost motivation due to tax time.

Cycling 1:05:00 [2]

Out for an "easy" ride with Bash. I'm pretty disappointed how hard an easy ride was- either I don't have the legs or the new bike's pokey, or perhaps it's from not riding outside since September. I think the trainer's no substitute.

Got some serious training to do on the bike. I just wish my commute would thaw.

Yoga 20:00 [1]

Rodney Yee DVD with Bash to loosen the legs up.
