Snowshoeing warm up/down 30:00 [3]
This was just supposed to be a warmup jog on snowshoes in the Dingle while Bash vetted controls, but it was hard work breaking trail on steep hills, according to my HRM.
Orienteering race (Snowshoes) 1:08:00 [5]

Thomass Caledon. I used snowshoes, Sealskinz and gtx shoes, which worked very well, even when I went in the creek.
I was determined not to follow the pack this time where I could.
I did my own route to 1, which wasn't great, ran with Nick and Tiny to 2, with Millhouse and Hotshot towards 3 until I tried to do my own thing again, back with them to 4, then I decided to drop down by myself to the trail and make time on the harder pack. It worked, but I had to break very deep trail back up the creek, and ended up running in their tracks to 6 and B.
Ran to A with Nick and Hotshot (Nick broke more than me), but did my own thing up the fairly obscure Bruce trail to D, which worked very well. Snowmobile trails to C removed the snowshoe advantage, but I broke some more trail to 7, 8 and 9. Half way to 10 I caught Ilona D and Tom W, only to meet Rocky right at 10 (As it should be with the Thomass box). I outran them to the finish, so CN were 1-2! Rocky had an awesome race, with solid nav in the lead for the second half. Handicaps worked out well, with the top 5 being 2-4-3-5-0 within 5 minutes or so.
Hard work running today! Thanks to Bash, KS, Rocky and Jeff for all their hard work and Crash for the goodies!
