Note

For our friends who missed the BFFF 'cos they were in France, here are the lyrics to the song I did. The tune is this one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TV2Y6juYhTA&sns=em

Oh her name's Sian Doughty, a ski coach is she
To friends and students she's mighty LD
She's travelled 'cross Canada, North, South, East, and West
But the middle of nowhere's where she likes it best

Well it's leg over bike, tree over bow
We'll run just as far as her heel will allow
There's no better adventure for you and for me
Than the Bolton Fall 50 with our Coach LD.

Our trip it is hard and the journey is long
But her spirit is willing, her calves they are strong
And when we arrive, the hot drinks we'll pour
And we'll dance with the T-man on Bolton's far shore

Well it's leg over bike, sea over bow
We'll run just as far as her heel will allow
There's no better adventure for you and for me
Than the Bolton Fall 50 with our Coach LD.

She's travelled the woods 4 decades or more,
And strangers still wonder what she does it for
Not sure of the answer, it's pleasure and pain,
But I know that next year we'll all do it again.

Well it's leg over bike, sea over bow
We'll run just as far as her heel will allow
There's no better adventure for you and for me
Than the Bolton Fall 50 with our Coach LD.

Cycling 50:00 [3]

Fast ride in and back with the big guy. When he gets going, he's towing me on the bike so fast I need to ride the brakes a bit, especially at night.

Strength 5:00 [3]

20+40+40 push-ups, and a Sun Salutation.

Strength 1:00:00 [2]

Foothab, kneehab, 30+45+40 push-ups, 10+8 pull-ups, workout 2 + KB.

Running tempo (Commute +) 45:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon FellCross

Good solid run to work. Bazingadog was a handful- hauling like a racehorse at times, slamming on the brakes and putting it in park for sniffing breaks at other spots. He should have been worn out from yesterday, but no-o-o.

Running 30:00 [2]
shoes: Salomon FellCross

Easy run home with Bulletdog. Spectacular night- frosty, dead calm and brilliant stars.

Cycling (Commute) 50:00 [3]

Fast ride in at -5C with the big boy , and even faster home in the dark. He was hauling! Had to crank the Bentblaster up to see the trail at that speed.

Strength 5:00 [3]

30+40+30 push-ups. Not getting any less painful.

Cycling 55:00 [2]

Crisp ride in with Bulletdog and back in the dark and cold, via some single track. Bulletdog will be 10 this January, but is loving the biking!

Festival Fall Fifty (Formerly Bolton Fall 50)
Multisport expedition planned by Goose, with LD, Bash, Goose, Mr.Biker and Tammy, Hansel and Gretel, and partial appearances by Huey, MrHuey and Crash.

Paddling the Humber with Bash. Water levels were good, and feet stayed dry. Still a bit chilly out, but a great paddle. Picked up mysterious clue balls along the whole day's route too.

Cycling 2:05:00 [3]

Riding from the Goosenest up the dreaded Mt Pleasant and back via Albion.
What happened to my biking legs? Oh yeah, a month with some ultra runs and very little riding. Mr.Biker had the good legs, but we suspect epo.

Hansel got some great video here.

Running 1:52:00 [2]
shoes: Salomon FellCross

Through Bolton trails to the old Bolton camp, with some bush whacking and an interesting tour of the area. Naturally when we came across fitness equipment we had to do pull-ups. Despite much confusion about kipping, I found to my surprise I could do 14 chin-ups. Goose, Hansel and LD all got a respectable number in too. At the Jumping Jack station I only filmed.
Also got the Goose attempting takeoff downhill, but sadly more groundhog than goose on the fast bit.
Back up the Humber trail to get the cars, then back to HQ for food, poetry and song.

Another fantastic outing well planned bu Goose, with our like-minded friends.
All filmed for posterity, but the film studio will need a long time to edit 6 hours down to 5 minutes.
