Running 45:00 [2]
shoes: Salomon Crossmax Green

Rain stopped, so the dogs and I went for a run- found a tree fallen on the trail making it impassible so cleared that, then met Steve and his pack of 4 dogs who live at Wheelrights, so went with him to the pond where my guys swam.
Fun time had by all the beasts, but Bazingadog is a little cowed by Ziggy the 10kg Puggle.

Cycling 1:00:00 [2]

Easy ride to the office to pick up the farm food. Bazingadog didn't have much BaZIng today.

Longer route than usual as the nasty folks have boarded up the official access to my commute, so now I have to cross the highway North of the river instead of taking the underpass by the river. Also no way to swim the big guy now. More doubletrack/ sidewalk, less trail.

Strength 1:00:00 [2]

Workout #3 plus full foot/kneehab.

Running 35:00 [3]
shoes: Hoka Mafate 2

Feeling a little lazy this morning, so just ran to work. Bazingadog had another go at the sprinklers at the golf course- I almost peed myself laughing!

Cycling 1:05:00 [2]

Frosty morning, so great for the big boy to bike in with me. Nice ride home- met Wayne on the Singletrack, and the hound was good with chasing him a bit. Did the Charlevoix loop on the way back too- perfect early fall conditions.

Running 30:00 [2]
shoes: Cascadia 7

Run home with Bulletdog. Calves sore from running in minimalist shoes on flat trail.

Note

New human powered speed record- Delft University's Velox beat Canadian Sam Wittingham's previous record by 0.6kph, and hit 133.78kph on a flat, calm course.

Graeme Obree, the Flying Scotsman, set a prone cycling record of 91kph basically lying on his stomach on his Beastie bike.

Strength 1:15:00 [2]

Workout 2 plus some core, foot/kneehab, and more hauling and stacking of big logs from the latest big branch to spontaneously fall from our poor pine tree. I'm going to have to have a splitting party once they freeze up.
9 AM

Running race 44:23 [5] 10.13 km (4:23 / km) +59m 4:15 / km
shoes: Salomon Sense

Terry Fox run with Bazingadog.
I haven't done any speed work since before France, and Bazingadog has never run in a race with a lot of people and dogs.

He was completely gaga at the start, and took off out the gate at a full gallop chasing the cyclists. Our first km was a 3:36, with a 2:53 top pace. We led all the runners for the first 3K or so, when it was time for a bathroom stop for him. This was followed by a nice swim at the half-way point, when Goose caught up with us. 2 fast lads passed us there, and we never caught them.

On the way back he was more interested in stopping for pee-breaks, and pulling back to see the other approaching runners and dogs on the out-and-back course. I think he had 5 bathroom breaks in all.

By the end of it I was pulling him along, and he finished 3rd with Goose and me with his tongue almost dragging on the ground, but he perked up pretty well after a cooldown, a few cups of water and 4 breakfast sausages.
10 AM

Running warm up/down 25:00 [2]
shoes: Salomon Sense

Warm-up, and a run back down the trail to get Bash for a cooldown.
