Strength 1:00:00 [2]

Workout 2, as well as hauling a load of logs from the bush and splitting it, plus hauling and hanging all the boats and raising the solar panels' angle for winter etc... Dogs were happy to help in the fenced yard- they can come and go from the gym as they please.

Orienteering 1:00:00 [2]

Out for a couple of hours giving BGY an intro to adventure running navigation in Albion. Bash had set up a beginner course for school kids with on-trail nav, so we did it off-trail, and hit numerous more difficult features in between.
BGY wasn't too keen on burr-filled dark green areas, but once we got in the open woods and river crossings he really got into it- he's a natural!

Cycling 55:00 [2]

Another great bike commute, but this time it was barely light both ways.
Return trip included a 1km Venison-inspired rocket ride as the same deer seemed to cross our path 5x.

Strength 1:00:00 [2]

Home Gym workout 1, knee/foothab, KBs (Only 2-hand swings- L. wrist still sore). Some core and lumberjack work at the end too.

Cycling 55:00 [2]

Commute of the Gods- biking under bluebird sky on a cool day in full jaw-dropping fall colours with my big buddy galloping along beside me is the best commute ever.

Running 55:00 [2]
shoes: Salomon Crossmax Green

Easy commute with the big guy. Right ham/glute thing is sore and knees both twingeing a bit, but not too bad. Fall colours still going strong- that helps!

Hiking 1:00:00 [0]

Easy hike home with Mocha the wonderdog. She trotted along like a champ in the cool drizzly evening.

Cycling race (MTBO) 1:28:19 [3] 17.11 km (11.6 kph) +333m

Woke up still feeling a bit nauseated, and *both* knees were so sore I could barely walk down the stairs. However, after all the work Bash put into the MTBO I planned to suck it up, buttercup.

Felt feeble off the start, with no climbing power. Knees got worse, and the nausea was coming back big time. I tried walking the bike up one hill but that was awful.

I seemed to be navigating OK, and local knowledge helped, but was having a hard time seeing the singletrack with a cloudy map bag and my contacts in. I leapfrogged DD11, FB, KS and LD often. Still had lots of fun in perfect fall colours.

The last hill just about killed me, and a bad shift which jammed my chain made it worse, but I made it back OK, despite feeling like I did at UTMB ie death warmed over.

Despite my self-inflicted issues, it was a great event. Good course, excellent weather, well organized. I'd love to do it some time when I am human again.

Great lunch at Caruso's after too, which I was able to enjoy with gusto after a few hours recovery.
