Orienteering race 2:00:00 [4]
shoes: Fellcross 3

Icebreaker
A couple of interesting twists on this one. First off was the Killer K, basically up and down the escarpment 3x, before getting the CP at the top. I might have gone a bit hard on that... Next up, a mobile CP. The ARKmobile was at certain spots but only legit to punch for a short period at each spot before it moved on. I hit it exactly as it opened the first time at 55a and then chased the Griz down the road and rail trail to the far West end.

Navigated the tricky CPs by myself cautiously but successfully, about as close as I get to spiking them.
After the Polar Express I made a beeline for the ARKmobile at 55b, then back down to the escarpment edge. In my mind I scored another75 points but if I'd read more carefully I'd have noticed that you could only get points on one mobile CP so it ended up costing me a slow swamp crossing and a 600m detour.

Turned out that I could have possibly cleared the course with those extra 6-7 minutes, but I ended up needing to leave some 20 pointers on the table, and finished the maze with seconds to spare.

Good fun course.
Griz, TurboHammer and Andre ended up clearing the course. AG won the juniors with a massive margin- that's our Athlete of the Year!

Cycling 55:00 [3]

Frosty singletrack ride in to work. Just a teaser of snow- not enough to ski.
Easy way back.

Strength 20:00 [2]

Hard Core with Caron. She was merciful this time.

Yoga 50:00 [1]

Strength 1:00:00 [2]

Home gym workout 2 + foot/kneehab. Still can't do front raises with my wrist.
Also spent some time wailing away with the splitter maul on the log pile.

Running (Pole Running) 55:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon Snowcross

Solid run with poles, trying to bound a bit to simulate skiing. Bazingadog was in fine form too- he thought we were skiing.

Running (Pole running) 30:00 [2]

Easy run home- the big guy was on stop-and-sniff duty.

Running 57:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon Crossmax Green

Wintery commute. Snow falling by headlamp was pretty magical, especially as the one I had dims by "imperceptible" flicker, which turned snowflakes into chains of light.

BZDog didn't even try to launch after a rabbit we saw!

Note

For everyone who asked if there is some way to help support the Belize Dental Mission I was on- hot off the presses, Tom and Cathy are looking into getting a permanently-equipped trailer with generator to just roll up to a building and start the clinic rolling.
No more Home Depot Shopvac/compressor and spiderweb of extension cords.

Here's the Gofundme site:

They have a 501c3 number for those in the US that want to write off a charitable donation: 46-3334666

Cycling 55:00 [3]

Chilly ride with BZdog. Especially blustery on the night ride home.

Orienteering race 1:02:53 [4] 9.08 km (6:55 / km) +124m 6:29 / km

Stars O-cup Puslinch.
Complex formula with 2 star-shaped boxes, but it worked well.
I had to work hard not to play "Follow the Eugenius" as we kept leapfrogging even with my intentionally taking different routes. He lost me when I got a bit disoriented with the map change. Nice day out, and the Stars put in a lot of work.
