XC Skiing 2:00:00 intensity: (1:00:00 @2) + (1:00:00 @3)

Fantastic family ski in the deep powder. See Bash's log for pics.
We ran into some skiers from the 5-winds club.

In Palgrave East we were breaking a lot of trail, setting ski tracks next to snowshoe prints in places. BZdog was really working hard in shoulder-deep snow, and eventually slowed to a plod until we hit tracks again. We wore him out! Me too- it was hard work.

Strength 30:00 [2]

Went to work with the shovel to clear the path to the garage.
An hour later our neighbour showed up with a front-end loader, and was surprised to see it dug out already.

XC Skiing 40:00 [3]

Wahoo, dumping snow out there! I harnessed up the Bazingadog and off we went, Dashing Through the Snow.
One mixed blessing to his recent training- he's more companion and less tractor on skis.

XC Skiing 45:00 [3]

Wow, what a return trip! Just floundering with submerged skis in the open fields, until I hit Bash's tracks where she kindly broke trail. The beastie had to bound like a rabbit- I need a longer trace on his harness if he's not hauling.
Love it!!

Teachable moment for Bazingadog when we saw Mr. Porkie waddling down the trail, and I tried to convince him that no good can come from that.

Strength 40:00 [2]

Supposed to go to a party after work, but the cars are barricaded in behind a huge pile of snow the plow left against the garage. Solid workout digging out, and also hauling a big load on the sled through knee-deep pow.

Strength 1:00:00 [2]

Solid workout 1 + foothab and some KBs.

Running 1:00:00 [3]

I had planned a first loop with BZdog before leaving him with Bash.
We've been working on him not hauling me around- if he pulls I stop until he settles.

First time was fine, second time I stopped his metal collar buckle went "ping" and flung off. He looked at me over his shoulder and took off. I caught up with him, and blew the fox 40 that always works in the fenced yard. He just gave me the Lance Armstrong Look and blasted away, leaving me holding the broken collar, and whistling with futility.

From the time I called Bash to get dressed and help me find him to the "Got him" text when he came trotting back was only 6 minutes this time at least. Double collar from now on- we don't need any more drama right now.
After my feeble running at the Icebreaker I decided I need to up the intensity, but not that way!

Solid singletrack run to work after I got him back home.

Running 30:00 [3]

Easy late night run home.

Running 30:00 [3]
shoes: Salomon Crossmax Green

Solid run via the Rollercoaster and extras with BZdog. We've been doing some work and he's getting the idea of not dragging my arm off, even when we saw 2 deer close up.
