Paddlng 30:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Caldera blue

Run with the beasts to check out the damage. 3 massive trees down on our neighbour’s trails, about 3 smaller ones and a monster across my commute, and about 6 more big live trees across the k-bash trails to Wheelie woods.

Running 28:00 [3]
shoes: Brooks Caldera blue

Nasty neck made for a poor sleep and painful run to work with AD.

Paddlng 45:00 [2]

Neck was sore so I skipped weights and paddled on the erg.

Cycling 1:14:00 intensity: (54:00 @2) + (20:00 @4)

Took longer than expected to switch to summer wheels etc, so no long ride despite the nice day.
Also too warm for the big guy to run hard, so I did a quick hilly solo lap first then an easy ride to work with him on harness after a good soak-down.

Easy night ride home.

Cycling 1:15:00 [3]

Commute with AD. Warm enough that he needed 2 swims on the return, and we cruised dry singletrack southeast of the pond. Perfect window between ice, muck and poison ivy. The pond switchbacks are so eroded they are unrideable.

26 degrees!

Cycling 57:00 [2]

Rollercoaster with my good big boy Bazingadog. He was panting on the way home- it was warm!

Orienteering race 3:51:00 [4]
shoes: La Sportiva Uragano

Raid the Rib on team Paw of the Viszla, with Tarno and Trav.

Tarno joined up as a sub for Hammer. The plan was to not break Trav for his big upcoming race. I was pleased we didn’t redline right out the gate. We got messed up with a pack in the Bermuda triangle- it was so lovely we had to do it twice.

We also didn’t have the most efficient plan for Pair’o’dice and the Matrix in hindsight and Tarno ended up doing 2 longer controls, but other than that and a bit of scrambling in Heart of Darkness things went well. The weather improved and the course got more interesting and technical on the East end. I was glad to have spikes, and our nav was clean heading West.

Nice to run into Bash, Dee and Browner who seemed to be enjoying themselves despite Bash’s bashed neck.

Our pace, nav and philosopy was more compatible than I had thought, and I really enjoyed a nice run in the woods with the boys. I felt good running.

Harps, Hansel and Mick were 3:01, the day after Hansel was 2nd at a trail 10k!
