Note
Finally!
I had a flu vaccine last Wednesday.
They only had the nasal live virus spray version. They said it can be more immune challenging, but I was just within the age group to receive it.
On Friday I started to get a runny nose. I don’t do the shopping or go indoors anywhere but work (and the pharmacy, where I was the only patient in the area) so I assumed it’s likely a snoot-full of live virus.
Saturday I had a runny nose, sore throat and a dry cough, and felt under the weather. I stayed in and took it easy, trying to sweat it out. I had Monday off as work is quiet during lockdown in Peel Region.
I assumed I’d be ok to work on Tuesday, but Public Health required a Covid test and isolation until negative results are known, even with my only exposure being the vaccine. Cr@p- there goes the office. Earliest I could get a test was Monday 8pm, as things are surging here.
By Monday afternoon I was certainly well enough to work, but going in against doctor and Public Health wasn’t an option.
I had to isolate at home, and didn’t even take the dogs for a run on the trail as I often run into people, including patients...
It took until Friday Morning to get the test results! Negative of course.
Entire week was a write-off, and work will be nuts next week.
