Beaver river with Bash, AD (with an upset tummy from last night) and Goose and CoachLd. We were delayed by a thunderstorm, but it cleared out to terrorize the GTA and we didn’t even get rain.
They brought a Marathon Stock boat, and we paddled our new H2O slingshot.
Great birding - all kinds of warblers, orioles, RBGrosbeaks, as well as the usual suspects on the river.
This boat is a replacement for my parents’ ancient Sawyer Cruiser, which has served us well for AR and some tripping but is getting brittle. It feels a touch lighter, definitely more solid, more stable, maybe a touch faster but we were just up for a recreational paddle after all Bash’s course testing so the Doughtys were waiting up for us, and eventually did a bit extra and caught up on the way back.
2-dog jog/hike to work! Bash is away so I brought them for the first time in 2 years. (We are finally screening some patients in the front door via app) The big guy was more sprightly than usual when he realized we’re not turning around to go back home, but slept like a log at work.
Commute + NE singletrack home. Met a dude on a 1-wheeled powered skateboard on the trail! Looked like a lawn tractor wheel. Dude had armour on arms and legs too.

Back out from Norway lake. Even with the hot buggy weather the woods were incredible. So much greener than when we came in Friday, and the birds even more boisterous. So many different warblers!
