Great season opener from Team Kiwi. Highlights for me: S-1, 4-5, 5-6 (trickiest, was very cautious), 6-7 (green as route obstacle....I've always wanted to do it, and here it was very well played - how far off line can you go and still bring it back to catch that confusing backside of the hill), and 9-10 (trying not to get pushed around that hill...do you cross the little trail correctly?)

11-12 nearly broke me - trivial navigation but I wanted <10:00/km so I need to keep shuffling through.

AP shows mistake free - sounds about right. I planned some routes to #3, I may have inspected a flag en route to 5 (not far out of the way), and was a little sluggish to 7, and peeked at the wrong ditch @ 10, but nothing egregious - hard to be bad when you are moving so slowly.

If the coworker noticing my weight wasn't a wake up call, maybe not being faster today is.

Note

Curious what turnout will be for Silver lake.

39 line items, some of which are teams spread over lines, so sub 40 starts as of 2 pm (early bird cut off).

I was kind of hoping for 80. We ran a two week event-specific ad, lots of bump posts, several emails.....

Maybe some are happy to pay extra to watch the weather.

Note

Read some rogaine feedback that mentioned points as being "yellow and orange". So I looked at the World Champs, and don't see much Red. Seems that would be consistent.

Also, the world champs look really fun.

Note

Emailed LiveLox on 3/22 that the results didn't work on Safari, they replied today that it's fixed and it was! Talk about responsive!!

Note

Zero response to FB call out for more hosts (maybe it was too far down the post and no one scrolls?)

Email includes call to course set, so far nothing but just a few hours out (6 pm yesterday).

Perhaps generic calls don't work well, although personal solicitations are a delicate approach?

Note

Maybe not impossible, but really hard.

Also, I was briefly set up to embezzle from the club because the interface is awful, but that's fixed now, but not as elegant as I hope long term.

Boosting PRA with a livelox gif, hopefully that bumps up the attendance.

Note

It is unnecessarily difficult to bin different ads to different payments methods on FB. Or maybe impossible. :(

Note

Nitro permit all but approved (an email "we can work something out", submitted w/ supporting docs, have a fee amount, so just not completely formalized), applied for OUSA affiliate insurance (which will offset the slightly higher park fee), so I can open registration soon. Hopefully I can fit in a few quality scoutings before mid June!

Walking 1:15:00 [3] 4.0 mi (18:45 / mi)
shoes: Roclites 295 2

Not sure of exact time or distance - when you manage time poorly enough to not exercise for a month, you lose track of your charger!

Nice time w/ BNM, who lugged a heavy pack. I lugged a heavy looking pack.

Biking (Trainer) 33:13 [3] 7.32 mi (13.2 mph)

Afterwards, I scheduled an eviction.
