Note

Was contemplating a long bike ride, but realized the volume of stuff to do around the house was quite high. Three hours of by-car errands, then get the mower to run, then weedwhack, mow, and tidy up some landscaping. That about shot the day.

One day I'll run the gps and heart rate while mowing so I can log it.

Walking 25 [0] 2.0 km (13 / km)

Lazy stroll around the sub

Note

Carried ~50 lbs of daughter into, around, and out of several buildings at work. Parking is atrocious here, so it should count for some sort of strength training.

Walking 22 [0] 1.4 km (16 / km)

Very lazy walk around a little of the sub. I should do more, but am balancing against some legs still sore from hoofing it around PLRA. Have to stay fresh for 8 km of Pinckney.

I was clicking along pretty well, reading the map alright, just minor bobbles. Then the giant run to #4 tired me out, and I missed a trail junction, so when I got to the right one I thought it was the wrong time. I went too far west, then cut north and was not 100% sure where I was, so too much hesitation. I knew I was south, so just go north. Then I was beaten and demoralized. So I thought I could give half effort on #5 and bore way too west. Then #6 was in a messy trail area, so I think I looked too early, had trouble relocating, and the finally decided to check out another reentrant. You had no margin for error; visibility was poor. Then no trouble with the last two, maybe a little sloppy to the last control but not unmanageable. Rumored first on Green - I was going to give some instruction afterwards so I was trying to keep it to an hour since I arrived late.

Took some people out on a course Tony marked up. Thankfully there were two other good folks with, as the group size was a bit much. We went really slow, but I think we gave them a good taste for the features and such. It was a nice hike in the woods, plus I could eavesdrop on Andrew a bit and pick up some tips myself. So much easier at 2 mph than at jogging speeds!
