It turns out mountain biking is fun. Jeff and I often do orienteering, or bike around to scout for a race, but rarely singletrack. Good times. Not too crowded this morning either, which was awesome.
I wimped out on biking there, but I forgive myself. Still better than nothing.
Can we map Island Lake? There are hilly meadows, something you don't get a lot of at the other parks. You could put flags in open grass and not see them from 30 m away because of topography. Might need a few poles to bring with. But it would offer a unique experience. There's some runnable woods at Island Lake tool, although I will acknowledge the greenness of some.
Also, you can see garlic mustard everywhere, mostly right after a trail crosses something, like a parking lot or road. Maybe people are helping spread it.
