Let this serve as a reminder to myself on the efficacy of calorie counting.
I have lost more weight in ten days of counting than I did without counting during 12 weeks of 24-hour race training where my volume was easily 50% higher.

A failed experiment. I thought maybe night riding would be the solution to all of life's problems, but it was not. I was, for one, exhausted. Adding to the lack of fun was a bike that refused to roll. I stopped 1/3 of the way into the planned route to see if I could diagnose it - nope, the back wheel just doesn't spin free. It's like going up a hill, everywhere. It may be great exercise, but it is not as fun as bombing around on backgrounds at 15 mph like last fall.
In conclusion I should suck it up and starting getting my lazy bum up in the morning, and also figure out why the wheel is dead.

Dear wife wanted to hike, and I figured the main path would be semi-dry. It was passable. Most of the side trails on this half of the park were okay because of leaves.
This also includes two passes through the zig zag to see how it compares to the map.
I should do some Cabin Fever hill work out here. I scouted some nice spots.
