Cold and icy. Hard to keep your heart rate up while walking in 17° on flat ground.

Testing some newer equipment. I couldn't find my kitty litter, so I ran the pack with 135 oz of Mountain Dew, and the pouch with 35 oz of Mountain Dew. Water bottles were full, and stayed that way when the tubes froze. Thankfully walking in 17° doesn't use much water.

Also used my new Roclite 319s. Perhaps a touch stiff; we will see. But feet not tenderized by the aggressive sole on hard ground, so +points.

Nine hours of sleep were glorious. Also, if you aren't up before my wife is done with breakfast, dog #2 will lay down next to you as a comfy heat source that compels you to remain sleeping as long as possible.

Might be on the edge for ramping up bike miles, so maybe a canoe and hike before the next ride.
