My seasonal slide towards incompetence. Could not relocate at 1, ~30 minute error. Struggled to interpret ridges. Largely okay after. Really used the compass today. Nice tough course.
#1 - If I could read topography at all, I should've figured this out on the first pass. Or the second pass. And the second pass, I should've gone to the rock pile and just dropped south. Blargh. The MMBA map sucks at the one spot where I just stopped and stared at it. Not very helpful at all in relocating. At least I have lots to practice over the summer.
#2. - fine
#3. - minor "oh, that FAR side of this mega saddle"
#4. - meandering around looking for a place to run, then realized I was there, so went back up the hill.
#5. - My gps track does not do justice for how perfectly accurately I climbed the hill. I just walked up on the compass, stopped, it was 2 m away.
#6. Whoops, not how I thought I did the start.
#7 - Followed my compass PERFECTLY to +15 degree. How, dunno. Saw the spur though and was able to correct quickly.
#8. Safe route, finally found control as I was getting nervous.
#9 - Bobbled around a bit.
F - need 30 minutes less running earlier to have 10 s more speed.
