Running race 41:52 intensity: (14 @1) + (3 @2) + (9 @3) + (37:47 @4) + (3:39 @5) 5.7 mi (7:21 / mi) +55m 7:08 / mi
ahr:173 max:182 slept:10.0 shoes: Brooks Ghost Blue

1st M35-39, 15th overall (~1400 participants? May include some walkers). WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Turns out I was the second fastest M35, but the other guy was ten minutes faster to take the overall win, and the results printing doesn't double dip.

Running warm up/down 10:02 intensity: (1:40 @1) + (4:34 @2) + (3:48 @3) 0.84 mi (11:53 / mi) +10m 11:28 / mi
ahr:148 max:164 shoes: Brooks Ghost Blue

Started to run out of time, so I hoped a ten minute warm up would get my heart rate to settle. Not really. Then off to bag drop.

Walking 1:20:00 [0] 4.0 mi (20:00 / mi)

To and fro. Scoped tomorrow's opening climb and it is awful. I am more impressed by the prior year results because that first mile has to be sixty seconds plus off pace. Wish I could find some traces to see pacing strategy. Views are spectacular up on top.

4 PM

Running 24:53 intensity: (9 @0) + (1:05 @1) + (8:07 @2) + (10:57 @3) + (2:52 @4) + (1:43 @5) 2.59 mi (9:37 / mi) +18m 9:25 / mi

The nature preserve SE of Ford and Prospect. Cute little wooded section of the trail with some hills, a saddle, some marshes, the odd spur. I enjoyed those bits. Wet jogging though on the east cornfield edge.

Tried to wind it up a bit, two quarters below 7:00/mile. Not sure how long I could hold it and what that means for pace on Saturday. :/

I love the merciless forward march of the AP log. I got to enjoy my 100 mile week for a few minutes before I wake up to see 30 miles lopped off. :-)

Brown bagging lunch seems to be helping nudge weight south. Hooray
10 PM

Erg rowing 1:28:34 intensity: (22:47 @0) + (1:05:47 @1) 1.94 mi (45:39 / mi) +1m 45:35 / mi
ahr:93 max:118

Probably should have gone out for a bike ride right when I got home, but didn't know how the evening would play out. I will accept this recovery.

One day I will get so I can actually elevate my heart rate....

ahr:149 max:190 slept:6.5 weight:200.6lbs shoes: Brooks Ghost Blue

This did not feel good for the first half hour. Then it felt fine. Towards the end, great.

I've noticed that before, some transition from "why??" to "alright" somewhere around twenty minutes in.

I retrieved my truck from the south side of Ann Arbor. Fun to buzz through town. Bikes for the win when I did a quintuple pass down State at Packard. Woo woo

Biking (mapping/scouting) 3:06:56 intensity: (3:12 @0) + (2:01:27 @1) + (50:27 @2) + (11:50 @3) 31.74 mi (10.2 mph) +202m
ahr:128 max:163 shoes: Jamis Dragon Sport 29er

Tried to collect a few trails on the night o map. Slow going! Reconsidering some spots - they will feet a little more rogaine-esque than precision o. Nice to bike with interruptions so I don't fret about the average pace much.
