Confirming Raccoongaine loadout plus grabbing trail tracks w/ w4j

Someone built a new trail south of the boy scout camp. I thought we'd be able to pick it up at the north end based on the signage at the south end - nope. Perhaps another time.

Then misjudged the time, somehow miss estimating by an hour (can't count), but still made the reservation, woo woo.

Random shower thoughts: Would it better to keep your stuff in your teammate's pack? No worries about getting bottles back in, just handle it while they are walking, or no removing a pack to retrieve an item from the inner bowels of the pack.

That kicked my butt. But maybe I shouldn't have a full meal and dessert shortly before doing this sort of thing.

MUP was standing water, slush, and ice, so I took the frontage road, which was a shade busy for my tastes. May defer a repeat until trail is clear.

Balance of the findable bridle trails. I have thoughts on 28-26, but wasn't certain so I skipped it. Not the most obvious segment. Finally got 30 to 28, going from 30 to 28. No wonder we missed it in the dark! Very subtle turn off the homeowner's path up a hill. The turkey tracks aided me today.

Tried out my new pants - so far so good. I was going to ski Maybury yesterday during daughter's practice, but I forgot my boots. So went shopping for the novelty of it and bought hiking pants at Gander Mountain - they are half the price of REI Saharas, so even if they don't last forever, I won't be heart-broken. Clothes fitting would be easier if my beautiful thighs were in the same size class as my waist instead of one larger.

Doesn't this knoll dream of hosting a CP?



Some woods are not bad for SE Michigan.
