Day of flags. Someone stole one of the water jugs. I did eventually find it. Popular spot, those cairns on yellow.
McDonald's drive through was, like, seriously 20 minutes, which put me a bit behind, and then the gate was locked so I chased down the ranger to ask about it, and he said he'd get to it after a few more things, but that was a 10 minute detour (well that and grabbing the game cam for the boulder control), so about half an hour behind which would show up later as I was still in unusually scruffy attire at the start, and also I forgot to drink anything for about 5 hours which didn't feel great.
Looks like people had fun. 54 starts which is slightly below target of 75-100, but the 20 person lesson was not reflected wholly in that count and was a nice attendance bump.

warming up, because corn mazes are serious business. As much as Coop wants the night owl, I want a corn maze win.

I had a good, mostly clean run. A few inevitable bobbles, and perhaps one or two less efficient routes.
If you want to win and are at my level, I think you'd be best off to measure and mentally mark off a set of halfway points, so you know whether to go cw or ccw on the tricky legs.
Got pretty winded at 2.5 miles, took a leisurely break to pass a family and catch my breath. Otherwise okay.
Super fun event, and great weather

Corn maze sprint! I tried to drop the hammer, but didn't have the top end on the straights. Two minor mistakes, and a couple less efficient routes, on the whole okay I think.

Wife hoped for another Turtle prep jog, so we took the dogs around the block and then 1600 m easy, 400 rest, 800 easy, 400 rest. I will ice later as a precaution.
