Note

So it seems EventRegister emails don't successfully arrive in everyone's inboxes, for example, Ken L and Michelle G. Hopefully there are not any severely disappointed people arriving at Maybury today. I added a note on the refunds and sent a redundant email from my yahoo aliased to registrar@smoc-runs.com to people who had email addresses but weren't payers to hopefully cut them off at the pass.

Orienteering 1:25:00 [3] *** 4.9 mi (17:21 / mi) +100m 16:19 / mi

Tied some tags for someone who asked very nicely. I don’t think the 9.6 is too much; I did 6 with a lot of walking

Note

Postponed night o.

DNR covid commission interpreted the rules as 25 person max, including hosts, so that'd be 23 racers. We had almost 60 signed up.

Thought a little about splitting over two days, but that still means kicking out at least 10 people.

The one thing I didn't ask about is if MetroNav could have an event in a separate parking lot. And maybe Lost Arrow in a third lot. That would have covered everyone.

So looking at 12/19, 12/31, 1/2, 1/9, 1/16, 1/23, 1/30. Comments welcome.

Monitoring period complete! It mostly wasn't too bad, once I got settled into it.

Orienteering 1:14:40 intensity: (38 @0) + (3:40 @1) + (7:58 @2) + (41:03 @3) + (21:16 @4) + (5 @5) 5.04 mi (14:49 / mi) +83m 14:06 / mi

Hard starting in front of BJ and Tim, knowing you are going to get rolled through. They are both gazelles. I tried to match BJ for a few strides, and that worked for all of 10 seconds.

Biggest bobble on #14, crossed over too early. Some imperfect route choices (turned off too early for #2...or look at Tim's route...too late!).

Fun times, I missed the rain so it was just windy.

I wore my active ankle, no real discomfort and no further strain. Ankle has been good the last four days.

I removed a quality, >0.5 in thorn from my shin when I got home. Gaiters were not enough to stop that!

Garmin says I need just 3.5 days to recover.

Orienteering 43:12 intensity: (40:29 @1) + (2:01 @2) + (26 @3) + (16 @4) 1.48 mi (29:11 / mi) +26m 27:41 / mi
ahr:113 max:166 8c shoes: Topo Blue

Picked up from one of my favorite areas (SW corner, the finish for most of the courses).
