Stole Barbara's track as the Fenix 3 was not up to being full charged and then is not even close to 24 hour life at this point.

Bit rough this morning. Got behind on time, which is never good because his pace is so variable and potentially slow, then two bike changes, much whining about attire, etc. we squeaked in with two minutes to spare. May need to dredge up the winter gear as he was not thrilled with the selections we did at today's temps.

Left earlier enough that the various issues of the day (needing gloves, gloves then being too tight, Halloween decorations too scary) did not need the usual urgency.

Semi taper, went with a short ride full of shenanigans:

*Wheelies
*Unmarked trail exploration
*Steep grassy slopes at the limit of my 30/42 and leg strength and tire grip, probably should do reps one day on some of these
*Found a micro skatepark?! near the train bridge

Got 40% of the way there and my teammate announced he had significant and severe bathroom needs. This was a no man's land (unless the dentist was open?) so I encouraged him to press on steadily. I let him ride the last two street crossings for speed, and as far as I know, crisis averted.

Rode over to Sweet Bikes in Canton, which is literally on the main I-275 route, so 7 miles the long way or I think just 5.5 the shorter way. I need a new chain; they advised also a new cassette so that's on order.

Ran into a guy I've worked with before who always has bike projects.

w/ my homey Eric, will probably try to keep Wed rides going until salt time.

Biking 29:02 intensity: (24:18 @0) + (4:44 @1) 1.56 mi (3.2 mph)

Much thirst and general protest along the way. I wish four year olds still had compulsory naps

Harvey rode his new Riprock, which went well until I think he tried to stand and slipped off a pedal and took a good crash. Thankfully he was wearing his chin bar. Some nice people were entering their house and overheard his bandaid request and ran in and grabbed one, although he was thankfully just scuffed a little. Poor buddy.

On a happier note, if you are allowed to turn your wheel quite sideways, track stand duration is way up. And I did a monster wheelie down the sidewalk after drop off.

Hines sampler with BNM.

Some road, gravel, single track, pump track, skill course, more single track, accidentally hiking trails but in my defense it's not well marked also it was fun, more single track, more gravel, more road, and beat the train, can't ask for a better time!

If I really hammered, I could see about adding the extra bit to Ann Arbor Trail perhaps for midweek lunch rides. It's not hugely off the end of the other stuff...

Seemed a bit wet for new-to-us bike. I should continue browsing and find him a fendered commuter for such conditions.

Biking 59:58 intensity: (22 @0) + (21:38 @1) + (31:54 @2) + (4:41 @3) + (1:06 @4) + (17 @5) 16.13 mi (16.1 mph) +73m

Quite possibly a personal best...no clock stopping, 16 miles in one hour. Lights were favorable outbound, slightly less so on the return into the wind and up the light light grade. Woo woo.

Almost silly to be ecstatic about that and then see the better times from 100 miles races are like, 18 mph all day. Wowser. But I will take the progress!

Harvey rode his new 12" bike which allows for easier on/off which should work better for the time being en route to school.

$15 for a Specialized Riprock, which lists at $230. I may need to drop $10 more on a longer seat post, probably can afford it.

Biking 21:39 [3] 2.75 mi (7.6 mph) +10m
shoes: 2015 Camber

Wheelie practice to hit a 150 mile week.
