QOC Fountainhead West: Blue

1.							Got careless and headed too far N. Crossed that long reentrant
2.							I got lost on this one last year as well. Went up the wrong reentrant and wandered around for a while trying to sort it out.

5.							Sloppy navigation. I intended to head more or less straight, but ound myself in the field 400 m NE of the control. From there I took the long way around in the clearings.

8.							Lost concentration and had no idea how far I had gone along the bearing. Went really slow trying to find features to match.
9.							Intended to take the trail around after crossing the stream, but couldn't find the trail on the other side. SO I went up and over.

11.							Did not like the control placement. At all. There were so many spurs in that area, and no way to tell which one had the control. Description was NE spur, but that didn't seem to help. Finally went up to the control on the hilltop 150 m to the S which had a nearly identical control code (ED vs FD?) and reattacked from there.
12.							Poor control description. Again there were multiple spurs, but clue just said spur. And it was a lot higher up than I expected.
13.							Bad route choice. I took the low route along the water's edge, but the control was way up near the top of the reentrant. And climbing that reentrant was no picnic. 5 ft deep leaves. Sure was fun coming down though!
