L Foot, Impact wound / trauma

Sharp stick through the sole of my nvii shoe straight into my left arch.
Puncture would was painful but I could finish the course. I thought I had cleaned it out and there was no evidence of any remaining stick.
I got through the Australian Champs carnival on 1.5 feet. Running was painful but manageable.
I started to see swelling and pus so upon return home visited my GP on 16 Oct.
Ultrasound on 17 Oct confirmed a foreign body inside my foot - 1.4cm of wood.
Off to Austin Emergency on 18 Oct and admitted.
Surgery on 20 Oct to remove the foreign body.
Home again on 21 Oct.
