Australian Long Champs - M20E. Took it easy out of the start because of the heat and was trying not to add any unnecessary extra distance. Pretty good overall, lost a little time on #6 and could have been more efficient on some other legs but nothing major. Callum White was coming in and out of my sight from when I was leaving #4 to #15 when he ran off ahead for the last time after leading me into #15 since he'd been there before 14. Caught Pat and Henry S on #18/#19 and Henry stuck with me until he peeled off onto the wrong depression on the leg just before the finish.

Finished 14th and 11th Australian ahead of a few people I would normally expect to be a fair way behind so definitely a good result.

ASOC Relay. Team 10th - 5th state. I was 8th on 1st leg.

Bad from the start. I think the flag for the start was further along the fence than the triangle showed and I got confused and made a stupid mistake running too far with the pack and then ended up at the wrong control so was in last place immediately. Worked my way up the field into a more decent position but messed up #7 since I didn't check my description. I kept coming back to the boulder that I thought the control was on, but the control was actually on the thicket next to the control on the other side, lost a lot of time there and dropped back a lot of places.

Caught back up to the ACT, QLD2 and NSW2 runners again in the last few legs. The ACT runner slammed into me while he was going down the hill and nearly knocked me over while I was coming out of the second last control. Finished behind the QLDer but ahead of the other two.

The Junior Boys and Senior Girls+Amy teams both made the podium which pushed us ahead of Victoria on the overall ASOC standings, taking WA out of last place for the first time since 1992.

ASOC Long. 16th (8th Aus). Good run overall. Struggled to interpret the rock detail on 2, 3 and 4 but didn't lose more than a minute on any of them. Good for the rest but was a bit slow up the hills and through the green.

ASOC Sprint. Not a great run. Lost 10s on #1 being a bit unsure about the features right near the control and 10s taking the underpass on #6 rather than going around. Had one good leg on #7 (got same time as Zefa) but then made a bad route choice right after the map flip losing 15s. Biggest time loss of the day came at #21, did everything right getting close to the control and checked my descriptions to get the right side of the fence (unlike the kiwi that caught me) but then I hit a makeshift wall made by the owner of the house the control was near intended to stop people running past his kids bedroom window. I then didn't recognise the difference between the OOB and the passable bits of bush so ended up running right back around and losing 30s.

A bit disappointed with the result overall - finished 18th (10th Aussie).

Aus Champs Relay - Leg 2 M20E. Ok other than one big mistake at #9. Switched off and just tried to run in the general direction and hit the big rock surface/clearing. Saw another rock surface/clearing mapped as rocky ground earlier on and then messed it up from there, probably lost about 3-4 minutes. Another two one minute mistakes over the whole rest of the course so probably lost 5ish minutes total. Not very happy with this run considering how fast and easy it was.

Searching for Arvin with the WA team since he wasn't back by course closure. He had just found his #8 after being lost for a long time, 2.5-3hrs total on course to that point.
