I rowed in #7 seat of a short 8 (6 rowers). Great glassy morning on the water. This is my 4th day rowing this week so I'd say that's a pretty good week. We went to farthest past Keyport that I've been in a while. Good crew this morning. Saw some bald eagles sitting on the mast of the YTT at the Keyport pier.
Ride with Hayes and Sam-dog at Stott. We hit the drop trail and Derailed to test out the sick new ride for Mr. Hayes. Really wish I got a new MTB instead of a car, but then the Mrs. would not be happy at all.
We finally were able to fill two boats. I rowed in a 4 in the #3 seat. It was a strong crew and we raced the full 8 in three seperate stretches. We did two max effort sprints of about 1300m each and I was pretty toast. It felt good to work hard.
The KRA hosted Kitsap Invitational Summer Scrimmage on Liberty Bay: I rowed at #5 in a BIR boat with a mixed up crew from all different clubs. We were the second boat to start and we ended up catching the 1st boat at about the halfway mark. The 3rd boat was gaining on us the whole time and ended up winning. We had to stop for a motor boat pulling out of the marina which cost us 2nd place. Great sunny day and fun racing.
