Giant's Rib Raid 2013 - Milton

Beauty conditions, great course and hard-working teammates made for an overall excellent GRR. Last year was my first GRR and we finished the half-raid. With much more confidence we are now tackling the full raids, which started with RTH last fall.

Teamed with Squirt and Matthew. We raced together quite a bit last year and gel well. Navigation was pretty good, a couple bobbles at: CP 6, going to far into swamp between 11 and 12 and backtracking out of the thick dogwood.

We were on our own between CP 3 and CP9 at which point we encountered quite a few teams in the butterfly. I think we made up some time in this section as nav was good, but we were going slower in order to get things right and also limit the number of turned-ankles! Also on our own between CP20 and finish. We slowed considerably in the last hour, so we will work on that in run-up to STT.

10th overall. Respectable, but still lots to work on, which is what will keep us coming back for more punishment.
