Rock Climbing 1:20:00 [3]

After the exam today Rushmie and I climbed basically all afternoon. We started out bouldering, and I did a couple V1s and tried some V2s, and then we rope climbed. I did a 5.10a, an easy 5.9, and a hard 5.8. We finished off with more bouldering but by then my arms were giving out so all I could manage was some V1s and a lot of V-intros.

Rock Climbing 40:00 [3]

All bouldering, all day. I did a lot of V1s and V2s, and near the end I went up a long V-intro three times, fast, to get a good workout in. Rushmie and Pria and I also did some negatives and assisted pullups. I can sort of do a chin-up but definitely not a pullup yet. (I'm always closer, though!)

Armchair Orienteering 20:00 [0]

Did half of this week's training. I'll save the rest for some other time this week.

Orienteering race 1:29:51 [3] 4.0 km (22:28 / km)
shoes: Innovate 280

I made more mistakes today, but none as bad as the middle course yesterday. I just really have trouble navigating with all the rocks and cliffs, because it's difficult to distinguish contours on the map and in the woods (with all the rocks cluttering everything up). For some reason it's hard for me to understand how the land is shaped if it's all broken up by boulders and cliffs and stuff. And it's made worse because I feel like I can't run as effectively because the footing is unreliable. But West Point is really fun. It's like learning a new kind of orienteering. So I guess I'll have to get used to it to get better.

Orienteering race 28:11 [4] 2.3 km (12:15 / km)
shoes: Innovate 280

Yay, finally a good run! I felt the best about this sprint, out of all the days of racing, because I actually felt pretty fast. I don't think I really made many mistakes, and the only thing I'd want to improve was my reading ahead (because at times I felt like my reading was getting sloppy and I was unable to keep up with myself). Also, I almost fell off a cliff, that was exciting!
