Running 10:00 [2] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

warmup

Orienteering 48:20 [4] 5.3 km (9:07 / km) +265m 7:18 / km

Day 2 - really beautiful again and a fun fast course. Good run, except for the 3x 60m climbs, where I lost about 2 minutes on each. Wasn't very tired at the end of the course, so maybe I should have forced a bit more, but hey I enjoyed it so who cares..

Running 10:00 [2] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

warmup

Orienteering 1:42:28 [5] 10.8 km (9:29 / km) +440m 7:53 / km

Liga Espanyola, Lles de Cerdanya, Pyrenees. Day 1.

A lovely orienteering area 1800-2200m (highest control at 2185m), not too difficult so technically mostly ok except one control. Physically dead though, combination of altitude, heat, having got up at 5am and general tiredness.

Tried to run slowly / walk for quite a few of the legs to make sure I enjoyed it...am fast becoming an orienteering "tourist", but it was worth slowing down a bit to enjoy those views!

Running 48:46 [4] 10.0 km (4:53 / km)

Intervals in Bois de Boulogne:

18 mins there (got lost)
6:32 + 2mins break
6:15
16 mins back

Not bad, apart from the dogshit everywhere which makes the experience a little *slippery* (not to mention the smell)

Felt ok, except a little out of breath causing stitches on the way back, that hasn't happened for a while

Note

Ran home from work for the first time yesterday. It was an interesting experience:
- I don't think anybody saw me as I sneaked out the back door (ok before 8pm)
- There are nicer (and roomier) places in the world to get changed in than a toilet
- What do you do with essential stuff - mobile phone, keys, wallet..? (I carried them in my hand but next time will bring camelbak)
- What do you do if your phone rings on the way home??? (I picked it up)
- What do you do with your work clothes? (I stuffed them into my bag, but they were very crumpled this morning - will bring coathanger next time)

Overall for the 20 minutes it saves me (as opposed to going home and running from there), it is quite a logistical exercise...but I think I'll keep trying for a few weeks.

Running 37:25 [4] 8.0 km (4:41 / km)

"Tempo Run" home from work.

15 mins to Champ de Mars (easy)
13.01 tempo (6.25+6.36) (fast)
10 mins back home (easy)

Idea is to extend the fast bit to 20-30 minutes (non stop, as opposed to interval training)
