Trail Run 10:00 [1] 1.0 mi (10:00 / mi)
ahr:133

warmup

Orienteering 1:01:06 [4] 6.29 mi (9:43 / mi)
ahr:170 max:181

Chatfield, red course, 8.3 km straightline. Physically things went well, though certainly I didn't have much speed. The heel did not give even a touch of bother until the last couple of controls, and it didn't feel like much then either, so generally I didn't think about it. My right big toe had been bugging me for a past couple of days because I think I crammed it too tightly into my yellow O-shoes the other day, so I went with the other ones, which worked well, but they were a bit soft and slid on my feet due to the heel cups. In the last stretch I did twist my right angle a bit, but I don't think its going to amount to any major problem. Orienteering wise, I did well too. There were a few details I could have done better, but no complaints really. I did piss off one fisherman, I was half way across the river when he started calling me inconsiderate and profanities. Then I noticed him and gave him a nod because it wasn't clear what his deal was. I didn't see a rod, so the whole thing was kinda confusing to me but I'm only guessing that he was scoping out the pool I just ran through. Not that I had a whole lot of ability to figure out the situation. He didn't let up as I ran away and I yelled back that I was racing, which seemed to piss him off more. The good news is that route put me way ahead of JP, I had seen him exiting the last control, and post race he said I was ahead of him at the next one, so it was a good route choice apparently.

Trail Run 24:00 [3] 3.69 mi (6:30 / mi)
ahr:161 max:177

Running club at J. Jones. Heel felt nearly perfect so I let the stride lengthen out and I pushed it a bit. I felt it just a bit at the start of each interval, otherwise everything was good. My fitness is not great, but it was nice to be able run pretty quick. Hopefully it will feel this good on Saturday. Paces were pretty constant on each ranging from 6:19 to 6:37.

Trail Run 38:00 [1] 3.99 mi (9:31 / mi)
ahr:132

Went over to Red barn, to make sure that I can run in the O-shoes. All was good, in fact, there was zero pain/discomfort. The best yet. More trails have been put in and it looks like people have done some mt. biking there on the new trails. Its a small area, but a good trail run and certainly be had there.

Short easy ride, 28th to the other trail to the dog park, then back to the east end of the Poudre trail. ATVers clearly have been on it recently, will make another phone call.

Road Run 33:00 [1] 3.65 mi (9:02 / mi)
ahr:135

laps around Glenmere. Heel was tight, but I could adjust my strike various ways to largely avoid any discomfort. Pushed the paced in parts and ran on the grass too.
