Warmup 4:20 [1] 0.2 km (21:40 / km)

Warming up before Quicksilver O'Quest (BAOC's 2nd A meet of the year) Day 1. Stretching was 3'00.

Orienteering 1:32:21 [4] 8.2 km (11:16 / km) +800m 7:34 / km
ahr:167 max:174 spiked:14/19c

Day 1 of Quicksilver O'Quest. A mediocre run/walk—many route choice errors (only got one correctly out of 4), but won. Crossed an uncrossable cliff (slow—bomfunk would not be proud). The course was net uphill, which helps me at this stage against just about anyone except maybe 2 or 3 USOF people (check out the 500-m/80-m uphill Leg 11).
Craig Murray should set IOF Long courses. Climb is very approximate; will measure and correct this week.

Rogaining 1:16:24 [1] 4.2 km (18:11 / km)

Control pick-up.

Home, Rancho 2VWUT4V2, home.

Note

Had a mad headache today, so skipped running. I have probably gained 5–7pounds since the Relay. Am also having some (apparently) pancreatic issues.

Easy running 2:04 [1] 0.3 km (6:53 / km)

Same as Monday. Felt almost no aftereffects from the weekend's adventure.

Easy running 1:54 [1] 0.3 km (6:20 / km)

Home to #51 bus stop.

Race 43:11 [4] 6.2 mi (6:58 / mi) +165m 6:26 / mi
ahr:164 max:170 slept:1.0

The Relay, Leg 34: Ben Lomond to Felton. It went much easier and much faster than planned. I was trying to hold to 7-min miles for the first (flat/slight downhill) 4.3, and push it "up" to around 8's for the hill. No problem: 6'49 6'46 6'18 6'25 6'32 7'46 2'35. Roadkills: 3 (+3/–0). 9'24 faster than last year.
Overall time: 27:50:05, 104th/286. Winners: 21:38:30, a 6'32 average pace. A 7-minute pace would get a team 7th place this year.
