Orienteering (Competition) 1:36:49 [4] 6.6 km (14:40 / km)

Mont Alto, PA. QOC and SVO Dual meet. There were some big hills and many rocky areas. The map was out of date (logging) which caused me one big error. I also had a mental lapse for a second big error. Back was tight which kept me from sprinting harder on the few trail portions. See the Split List.

Running (Warm-up/Warm-down) 5:00 [2] 0.4 mi (12:30 / mi)

Warm-up jog and a jog from the finish to the start.

Running (Trail) 38:22 [3] 5.57 mi (6:53 / mi)

In Greenbelt Park. Perimeter Trail backwards. Back was tight but didn't hurt too much. The time off was good but I probably need more of a break from running to heal it.

Hiking (Day-Trip) 1:10:00 [1] 1.8 mi (38:53 / mi)

Starting from Paradise parking on Mt. Rainier, Washington (at around 5,800ft), up to and a little past Alta Vista overlooking the Nisqually glacier 600ft. higher) and back. Work finished early. I hadn't come to hike and only had my running shoes. The snow was hard packed with the top 2-3 inches of the 8-9ft. accumulation soft. I slipped and slid alot. Others were in snow shoes. I took pictures and listened to the rocks fall around the glacier. I had to stop well short of the high point of the trail as it was starting to get dark and cold. The full moon rose above the peaks after I'd finished. It was paradise.

Running (Street & Trail) 39:43 [3] 5.6 mi (7:06 / mi)

From Windsor Green, Ridge Rd. to Greenbelt Lake, around the lake, and
back to Windsor Green. Slow start. Hip/back hurt all the way through the run. I perhaps should have cut it short.
