First paddle of the year. Haven't been too motivated as not much paddling in FMIJ but with Race the Rockies coming up I need to get out. Other issue is that I took my feathercraft apart and have been too lazy to put it together, and the water has been cold making me loathe to take the evo out and maybe fall in. Went out today on the Columbia - Arrow Lake is coming up so current is pretty low. Took the Evo and felt a little tippy at first but not bad. Got less stable towards the end of the paddle as I think the stbilizer muscles are not in shape. Still interesting that my HR is so low - not enough muscle mass I guess.

Good ride north on Hwy 23. -15 on the flats and crept up to -5 on the climbs. Felt pretty good.

Two laps up the Mt Cartier trail. 17:20 and 16:35. LBP on hills 2-5. Bit of a frustrating ride as I hadn't been on my Rocky for a while and on the steep sections of that trail it seemed hard to keep the front wheel on the ground - more so than the trek. It seems more exacerbated since I switched from a talas to the 100mm fork. Might need to tweak the fit a bit.

Up to the ski jump at a moderate pace (135bpm), then up the summit trail to the first road. Ran both the ski jump trail and the summit trail although felt a bit tired today.

Airport Way on the road bike. It was really windy this morning but things seemed to have calmed down by the time I went out. 30min time trial at BP (156). Did 19km in 30 min.

20 min warmup with the dog on the greenbelt. Trails are starting to flood. Then some intervals on the track. 5x1000 at LBP. 3:43/3:40/3:45/3:40/3:42. 15 min cool down.
